CONCEPT
Time and space for entertaining
A pedigree long-established restaurant,
away from the hustle and bustle, nestled in a magnificent lush Japanese garden.
We provide a moment in time constructed with a consciousness of those providing
and receiving hospitality which results in the creation of truly satisfying hospitality.
Cuisine is prepared through a Japanese-style consciousness;
one that is aware of the seasons through the sounds of water,
the wind, and the greenery in a garden,
and through this approach a truly moving dining experience is created.
HISTORY
History of Watahan
In 1965, RYOTEI WATAHAN was established in Shirogane,
Fukuoka, a location with old town atmosphere.
WATAHAN has delivered gourmet food to many and has been as
a place which serves a number of celebrities and business leaders.
The traditional Japanese garden, featuring cherry blossom trees and
the other trees which reflect the seasons of Japan,
was carefully designed by an experienced gardener in 1997.
The plum tree in the garden has watched over the history of WATAHAN
for more than 100 years. Decorations and dishes which reflect a sense
of the seasons display skills which break the mold.
WATAHAN pays more attention to "how delicious the food is"
than "what else can be improved." The only thing that matters is,
after the food has been served, confirming through the expressions
on their faces, that guests have enjoyed a pleasurable
time with their loved ones. The personality of such
a long-established restaurant owner lives on at WATAHAN.
WATAHAN's tradition and history have been long cherished by many.
Inheriting the spirit of a traditional Japanese restaurant,
identifying and polishing the core of the tradition,
an atmosphere of "Wabi Sabi" is created. Moreover,
the tradidtional-French-based flavors and service are presented
in a style called "innovative french",
which delivers a glimpse of the brand new future.
It continues to be refined for the better.
We are determined to create time and space as "innovative french
WATAHAN by Furuyu Onsen ONCRI" for both the "inviter",
the guests bringing their loved ones, and the "invitee".
